​You delivered another incredible tournament season! A big thank you to each and every one of you for the unwavering support, the highly competitive games, and most of all, the strong friendship and camaraderie. FAGOC is truly blessed to have played 13 successful tournaments in some of the most challenging courses in Ocean and Monmouth counties.

​

The final game - Club Championship Game #2 was played on Saturday at Eagle Ridge. The same challenging format as Game 1 but with a lot more at stake. It decided the winners of FAGOC's most prestigious awards: 2026 Club Championship and the FedEx Championship.

Claiming his first victory of the season, Adonis Buelo delivered his best performance on the last game. Carding a net score of minus 1 (71), he finished in a tie for first place with no other than El Presidente Elmer Sadiangabay who delivered just as brilliant game as Adonis. In fact, Elmer came away with the best gross score of 83, edging out Adonis by a single stroke. Tied for first place at minus 1(71) net, Adonis and Elmer edged out Dr. Tony Villarosa by a single stroke (72).

But we had to go to a tie-break to decide the winner. And that’s where Adonis prevailed.

​

With exactly the same net scores (34, 37) for their front and back, we had to use their last 6 holes to break the tie.  One hole (#17) made the difference. Adonis delivered a birdie on the penultimate hole – PAR 3 and sealed the victory. Adonis’ last 6 net total of 25 (4,7,3,5,1,5) vs Elmer’s 28 (4,6,4,5,4,5).

In the FedEx Cup competition, it was a run-away win for Champion Rommel Tamayo. With his back to back wins of 2 majors (Masters and Club Championship Game 1), Rommel built enough points (639) and could not be caught. The closest player behind was El Presidente Elmer at 565.5. The top-5 FedEx Cup final standing is as follows:

Dada Alberto            = 533.2

Chuck Scudder          = 483.0

Adonis Buelo            = 454.0

And for our 2026 Club Championship competition where we use cumulative scores from both Club Championship Games 1 & 2, the player who claimed the victory is no other than Dr. Tony Villarosa.

​

With a total net of 154 (82, 72), Dr. Tony Villarosa prevailed by edging out both Romy and Adonis who finished tied for 2nd place at 156 net total.

​

Again, congratulations to all the winners! Truly an incredibly exciting season!

A shout out and a special thank you – to all of FAGOC’s officers led by El Presidente Elmer. Your sacrifices, contributions, and love for FAGOC are beyond commendable. Just utterly an amazing job across the board. From the exciting new formats and selection of tournament venues to media coverage and management of financials, you simply and consistently delivered PAR excellent job!

Next is our Awards Night at Clarion Hotel in Toms River on Friday, October 23.  More than the awarding of trophies, we will be celebrating you, the FAGOC members. Time to celebrate the success and how this club has grown stronger year after year.

​
