CLUB RULES AND REGULATIONS

FIL-AM GOLF OF OCEAN COUNTY (FAGOC)

INTRODUCTION:

    Fil-Am Golf of Ocean County rules and regulations is our basic guide in the manner of how the game of golf should be played. It is expected that all players will gain maximum enjoyment from the game and develop camaraderie amongst the members. The game of golf is played without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies solely on the integrity of the individual player.

    All players should conduct themselves in a manner with discipline, courtesy, and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive it may be. This is the spirit of the game of golf.

   

MEMBERSHIP:

 

    1.  An active, good-standing member shall sponsor membership entry to Fil-Am Golf of Ocean County. The Steering Committee shall act upon each proposal by vote.

 

    2. A candidate accepted to the club will be classified as a Regular Member after paying the membership dues. The annual membership fee shall be a non-refundable $125.00. The membership dues will include the USGA annual renewal of handicap and dinner costs during the awards night.

 

    3. Any member(s)who fails to renew their annual membership fee or for any reason is not considered a member until he pays the full member yearly dues.

 

    4. Regular Member must:

         a. Abides by the rules and regulations of the club.

         b. Pays his outing Fees; no credit allowed.

         c. Comes to golf outing on time.

         d. Must play at least three outings of the scheduled tournament.

         e. Follow the golf dress code.

         d. Accurate and honest keeping of scores​.

 

STEERING COMMITTEE:

 

1.  Steering committees are composed of members of the organization designated by the chairperson.

2.  Any member is invited to be a group of a committee, whichever that member thinks can provide service and help the organization. 

3.  A committee meeting is scheduled before spring, and the succeeding schedule will be announced. 

 

Committees includes:

1.  Membership Committee

2.  Handicap Committee

3.  Event Committee

4.  Rules and regulation Committee

 

ETIQUETTE AND BEHAVIOR ON THE COURSE:

 

SAFETY:

   

Players should not play until the players in front are out of range.

Players should ensure that no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by the club.

The traditional word of warning in situations where there is a danger of hitting another player when the ball is in flight is “FORE!!!”   

Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking, or making unnecessary noise.

On the putting green players should not stand on another player's line of putt or when he is making a stroke or cast a shadow over his line of putt.

In stroke play a player who is acting as a marker should, if necessary, on the way to the next tee, would check the score with the player concerned and recorded it.

Players should play at the good pace. The committee may establish a pace of play guidelines that all players should follow:

1.     It is a group’s responsibility to keep up with the group in front of them.

2.     It is the responsibility of the team leader to inform the group if the team is behind.

Players should be ready to play as soon as it is their turn to play.

When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green.

Before leaving the bunkers, players should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by them and any nearby made by others.

Players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and any damage to the putting green made by the impact of the ball.

The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the putting green.

 

GOLF OUTINGS:

 

     1. The Steering Committee creates the annual calendar of golf outings and appoints a tournament starter or coordinator. The yearly calendar schedule is posted on our website, fagoc.org  

 

    2. All members must sign up at the website fagoc.org to be counted as players on the date he is supposed to participate.

 

   3. The Committee shall be responsible for outing venues, date, fees, deposit, collection, measuring devices, rules & etiquette, flight schedule, and other matters connected to the golf outing.

 

   4. Trophies and awards are for paid members only. 

ATTENDANCE:

 

    1.  A member who signed up for the tournament and did not play on the stipulated due date will automatically pay the outing fee.

    2. A member can bring a guest and will pay the total amount of green fee if the guest cannot play on the scheduled date.

    3. Members must sign in at the website whenever they want to play on the scheduled date.

    4. Members are expected to be at the venue site 30 minutes before tee time. 

 

FEES:

 

    1. The fee for all regular tournaments will depend on the green fee for members and guests. Change in the amount will be posted in our website sign-up page or by mail.

 

    2. Outing fee shall be paid before the start of the tournament.

 

    3. Outing fees do not include meals or snacks unless otherwise included in the package as required by the course or agreed upon by the Committee.

 

 

RULES AND ETIQUETTE:

 

     1. Each player must have a golf bag and USGA rule no more than 14 clubs in the            

  bag

 

     2. Must follow Local and USGA rules

 

     3. Proper golf attire/Dress code

 

     4. All golf tournaments shall be Govern by USGA and in house rules

 

     5. No disturbance or distraction while the other player is about to put or hit the     

  ball

 

     6. Repair Divots, ball-marks and markings damaged by shoes

 

     7. Always rake footprints and club marks before leaving the bunkers

 

     8. Putt through always, no gimmes, or will incur 2 strokes penalty

 

     9. Closest ball to the hole, will man the pin, last ball to play will place the pole

 

     10. Exit the green as quickly as possible, always update the score on the next  

          tee.

 

 

PACE OF PLAY:

 

  1. Players should play at a reasonable pace, always keep up with the group in front.

  2. Players must be ready to play as soon as it is their turn

  3. If a player believes his ball maybe lost or out of bounds, to save time, he should play a provisional ball.

  4. No more than 3 minutes of search looking for lost ball.

HANDICAPPING:

  1. All members will have a determined handicap based on GHIN index, accredited by NJSGA.

  2. New Members with GHIN card, and current, must submit GHIN number to handicap committee for proper updating.

  3. GHIN payment is included in membership fee

TIE BREAKER RULE:

 

FAGOC follows the USGA rule for Tie Breaker which is as follows:

 

If the final round or the entire competition is tied, the winner is determined by comparing the scores for the last nine, six, three, and finally the 18th holes.

AWARDING:

Awards will be given at the awards night.

 

The following winners for every scheduled tournament:

 

1.  Club A champion

2.  Club B champion

 

Master's Championship: 

 

     Members must play at least four games of the scheduled tournament to qualify for the Masters championship tournament.

 

FedEx Championship:  

   

     Members must play at least six games of the scheduled tournament to qualify for the FedEx championship.

 

FAGOC Club Championship:

     

      The lowest cumulative score of the last two days of the game is the club champion. Members must play at least 6 times in the scheduled tournament to be qualified for the championship tournament.
